LaproFlex monopolar hook used during total laparoscopic hysterectomy

Optimal approach of full circumference

Problem

Getting around the uterus

The uterus is located along the midline of the abdominal cavity. To mobilize the uterus or execute the colpotomy, instruments need to approach the uterus from different sides. To enable a good approach and clear view on the target area, the surgeon has to forcefully manipulate the uterus, switch instruments or even switch sides at the operating table. This is time consuming and hindering the flow and accuracy during surgery.

“With one simple, cheap instrument you can do everything, you don’t have to interrupt the procedure to exchange instruments.”

– J. English, M.D.

Solution

The LaproFlex hook can be steered around the full circumference of the uterus

Combined with a standard bipolar grasper, the LaproFlex monopolar hook can approach all sides the uterus from a single point of entry. This facilitates dissection of tissue to mobilize the uterus and amputation of the uterus from the vagina.

“You can approach the target perpendicular and always guarantee optimal exposure.”

– J. Rhemrev, M.D.
